We have lots of events and activities coming up in the new year! Here’s what’s in store at our churches…

Coming up at St Peter’s

Youth Alpha - Sundays at 4pm from 11th January

A new 8-week course for 11-16 year olds to spark conversations on life, faith and purpose. With films, discussions, challenges, food and fun! Open to any young person wanting to ask about what’s on their mind.

Service for All - Sunday 18th January at 4pm (monthly)

Our informal service for all ages takes place on the third Sunday of the month. During this one-hour service we share a time of worship together, before breaking off into age groups to help us delve deeper into our faith. If you’re new to church, this service is for you! Everyone is warmly welcomed so please do come along and give it a go.

Renew Wellbeing Café - Tuesdays 10am-12pm & Thursdays 5-7pm (closed 25th Dec & 1st Jan)

Our Renew spaces offer a place where it’s ‘ok not to be ok’. We have board games, crafts, homemade cake and hot drinks available, plus quiet space if you’d prefer some time alone and optional prayer time to close each session. Drop in anytime and stay as long as you like.

Zone & illumin8 - 10.30am & 4pm (alternate Sundays)

Zone - Our under 11s group where children can learn about Jesus, explore the Bible and have fun. Games, crafts, activities and juice!

illumin8 - Aimed at ages 11-16 with games, discussions, a chance to make new friends - and, of course, donuts!

Day of Encounter - Thursday 5th February

Our Days of Encounter offer different ways to engage in prayer. A quiet, reflective half-hour service at 8.30am begins the day, then our 7.45pm includes musical praise, a chance to pray (with others or on your own) and a space for quiet time.

Coming up at Toton Methodist Church

Lunch Club, Language Café & Warm Space - Mondays from 11am

Everyone is welcome to come along for a hot 2-course lunch in good company. Church stays open until 3pm as a warm space with games available. From 11am to 12pm we also run Language Café, a chance for those who don’t speak English as their first language to practice their language skills and to meet new friends in the community.

Foodbank Collection - Saturday 3rd January, 10-11.30am (monthly)

On the first Saturday of every month we offer a chance to bring along donations of non-perishable items for the Canaan Trust, supporting homeless and vulnerable people in Long Eaton and surrounding areas. Hot drinks and toasted teacakes are served throughout the morning.

Messy Church - Sunday 4th January at 4pm (monthly)

Church but not as you know it! We explore a Bible story or theme through fun crafts, games, challenges and activities; followed by stories and songs in a celebration before enjoying a two-course meal together.

Thursday Fellowship - Fortnightly on Thursdays at 2.15pm (restarting 8th January)

Join us for an afternoon in good company, with a different theme or guest speaker each session, including speakers from Christian charities and organisations. Refreshments are provided.

Open Space Café - Fortnightly on Thursdays, 10.30am-12pm (restarting 15th January)

Church is open on alternate Thursday mornings. Drop in anytime for coffee and conversation.

Muddy Church - Sunday 11th January at 10.30am

All ages are welcome for some muddy fun! We love learning about nature and the environment out in the church garden. Adults can either join in the fun outside or enjoy the service in church. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear - you might get muddy!

Breakfast and a Stroll - Tuesdays from 9am (restarting 13th January)

Suitable for parents/carers with babies or preschool children, with breakfast available from 9am before our walk at 9.30am. If the weather is wet, we have a nice warm room with plenty of toys!
