Seeing Lives Transformed through Faith in Christ
Thursday 30th July
Both of our churches are currently in the process of deciding how and when they can safely re-open. Once we have clear plans in place these will be shared with the congregations and wider community. Please pray for our leadership teams as they make these difficult decisions.
Tuesday 8th July
We are pleased to announce that on Saturday 11th July, St. Peter's Church will again be open to individuals who wish to pray and reflect. All will be made welcome. The opening hours are limited to between 2pm and 4pm. All the necessary guidance has been followed to maintain social distancing and hygiene measures with volunteers on hand to advise. We ask all who come to observe the signage and respect the rules, so that volunteers and visitors feel safe.
Thursday 18th June 2020
While all the Church of England’s cathedrals and churches remain closed
for public worship, in line with Government advice, a phased approach
to lifting restrictions has begun. We are pleased to announce
that on Saturday 27th June, St. Peter's Church will be open to individuals
who wish to pray and reflect. All will be made welcome. The opening
hours are limited to between 2pm and 4pm. All the necessary guidance
has been followed to maintain social distancing and hygiene measures
with volunteers on hand to advise. We ask all who come to observe the
signage and respect the rules, so that volunteers and visitors feel safe. The
Methodist Church in Great Britain has said that it is unlikely to make any
move towards the reopening of buildings until the second week in July,
after Conference has met and there are no plans to open Toton
Methodist at present.

This week's newsletter is here. There was too much to go in it this week so we will mention again on this web page about the free bible study course from the Bible Society. There are eight sessions which can be used by people on their own or as part of a group and ways of sharing it are on the main webpage here. Each session is about 35 minutes long.
Matt lead our Zoom Church this Sunday and an audio copy is here.

The next bulletin is here. You may be aware that Toton Churches is part of the Nottinghamshire Coronavirus Community Support Hub that aims to provide practical support to those that need it, especially if they are self-isolating or affected by the coronavirus in any way. You can contact the county-wide scheme on this link or come to our team directly by email by clicking here or phone the church office on 0115 946 2357 which will be answered at any reasonable time.
Sat 28th March 2020
The latest bulletin (link) is now available with a message from Methodist minister, Matt. It includes links to both Methodist and Church of England websites with messages and things to do during the current situation. It also includes an introduction to our new administrator, Louise Lawrenson, who has just joined us and has therefore spent more time working from home than sitting in the church office. We hope and pray that despite this she will settle in to her role and we look forward to the contribution she will make to church life in Toton.
Churchbox account holders will have received the bulletin by email along with a form of service that can be used at home. This was produced by the Methodist Church and contains all the words you will need to worship on your own or with your family. If you didn't receive the email a you can find the service as a download here.
Churchbox is an on-line directory of people associated with our churches. If you would like to know more about it please contact the office. If you do have an account log in is here.
Sat 21st March 2020
The first weekly bulletin (link to download) has been emailed to everyone who has a Churchbox account. Copies will also be put through the letterboxes of those we know who don't have an account. If you know of anyone who might not receive one please let us know through here. Following this link will download a "kindness postcard" that you can use to let someone know you can help.
Also available here is a pdf document with a short act of worship which has been produced by the Methodist Church to use at home. This is a link to a Church of England service for Mothering Sunday led by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Wed 18th March 2020
All public worship, groups, social gatherings and non-essential meetings are cancelled for the foreseeable future across Toton Churches. This follows the advice from government and both the Church of England and the Methodist Church nationally on ‘social distancing’ and protecting the vulnerable. We understand how difficult this will be for many for whom these groups and services are an essential part of their daily life. Please be assured of our prayers at this time and if you have any specific prayer or practical requests, please do let us know. Check back here for further communications on our plans to support people who wish to worship at home and how we can practically support one another and the community of Toton at this time.
