Alpha 2018

Following our Alpha Introductory evening, we now have a good number of people signed up. It is not too late to come along or to invite someone.  Alpha is running each Thursday at 7.30pm at St. Peter's until the end of November.  It includes a hot meal, a film talk, discussion and a friendly welcoming environment to explore the basics of the Christian faith.  Please continue to pray for all those involved in Alpha this autumn.    Further information from Andrew Pearson or Jane Butler.

Sweaty Church 

Doing church differently! Sunday 14th October 3.30-5.30pm at Toton Methodist Church and garden.  This is for all who enjoy sports, challenges and games and includes team talks and a hot meal.  Please come along and enjoy the fun.

Leprosy Mission Supporters Meeting

Monday 15th October, 3.00pm at Stapleford Methodist Church., followed by a buffet tea. The meeting will be led by Allister du Plessis, with guest speakers from TLM head office sharing news of TLM's current work.
All are welcome to join us and lifts to Stapleford can be arranged. For more information speak to Judith Coomber.

Listening Matters at the Carer's Hub,  Tesco Community Room

Wednesday 17th October 10am - 12noon.  Confidential listening and support every 3rd Wednesday of the month.

Prayer Breakfast

 Saturday 20th Oct at 8.30am at St Peter’s Church.  This month we are praying for Outreach and Mission.

Lunch and Games Afternoon

Monday 22nd October 12- 3.00pm at Toton Methodist Church - Join us for a simple lunch of homemade soup, roll and a pudding followed by board games, a chance to chat, bring your knitting or whatever is your interest to share with others.  Suitable for all, including those with dementia and their partners or carers.

St Peter's Maintenance Day

 Saturday 27th Oct 10:00am - 1:00pm.  Can you spare some time to help with general cleaning and tidying around church (inside and out), plus some small maintenance jobs? All help appreciated; any questions please speak to  Robert Mewes.

One World Week Charity Christmas Card and Gift Sale

 Saturday 27th October 10am-12 noon at Beeston Methodist Church,  Chilwell Road. Charities represented include Oxfam, Christian Aid, Leprosy Mission, Treetops, Rainbows, and Trade Craft. Refreshments and cake stall also available.

Annual Service For the Bereaved

Annual Service for the Bereaved - Sunday 28th October 4.00 pm at St Peter’s.   A short and simple memorial service with a few hymns, some prayers, bible readings and a short address.   It is an opportunity to remember our loved ones before God and you will be invited, if you wish, to light a candle in their memory.  There will be light refreshments afterwards. Everyone is welcome.

Light  Party

Wednesday 31st October 6-8pm

If you have children aged between 4-11, save the date for our Light Party.  This is a super fun party with games, activities and party food and is offered as a positive alternative to Halloween.    Come as a super hero or florescent neon clothing for an evening with bubbles and slime!

Toton Yard Sale

 Saturday 10th November 10 am – 3 pm

The idea for a Toton Yard Sale arose from discussions with parents at the Tesco Fun Day who were worrying about the expense of Christmas. We are keen to support families and to encourage the recycling of toys.  
Vendors need to have paid £3 by 28th Oct. Schools and the churches will sell the map of venues for £1 from 4th November.

CHIPPS Workshop:Pastoral Care & Creating a Pastoral Team

 Saturday 10th November  10am-2pm at St Helen's, Stapleford NG9 8FN.  A Workshop looking at the basics of pastoral care and the process of setting up a Pastoral Team. All enquiries to Sue.  More information here.

Toton Advent Windows 2018

 It’s back! – Advent Windows is returning this Christmas to bring the good news of Christmas into the community from 1-24th December. Watch this space for details.

Space for Reflective Prayer for Advent 

Toton Methodist Church will be open for quiet prayer at the start of Advent from 10am - 1pm on Sat 1st  December.  Refreshments will be served in Room 1.
