Nominations for St Peter’s Vision and Implementation Team
-
This team’s purpose is to focus on the physical and cultural growth of the church by looking long term at how we are engaging with the local community as well as with one another and with God. This team will look specifically at the big picture of St Peter’s, our vision and values, and reflect on how we are doing.
-
This team sits under the authority of the PCC. This means that it has areas of responsibility across Church life, but decisions are made through the PCC.
The areas of responsibility are (this is not as exhaustive list!):
Vision and values, and how they are implemented
Outreach and Mission
Growing leadership within the church
Finance and Giving
Premises and Building Project
Safeguarding
In addition, the team will support the work of the Children, Youth and Families outreach events.
-
There is another team that has been created in the restructure of our Leadership Team, called Ministry and Discipleship. At the moment, this team is made up of members from the Preaching and Service Leading team, with representatives from the Worship Group and the Church Warden’s Team.

The group will be made up of the Vicar, at least one person from the Church Warden Team, and a selection of nominated people.

Nomination Process
The nominations process will be as follows:
The PCC discuss what would be needed within this group for the following year. This year, we are looking to form the team, and get going so we are seeking people who are excited by the purpose of the Vision and Implementation Team.
PCC members and the Vicar can nominate potential candidates who are on our electoral roll. These nominations must be with permission from the candidate and proposed by a member of the PCC. Nominations are made in one of two ways:
Someone is approached by a member of the PCC to prayerfully consider being put forward and asked to read the person specification. Once willingness has been shown from that person, they can be nominated using a nomination form. See below.
Someone can put themselves forward by speaking to the Vicar, and together they prayerfully consider whether that person would suit the role by considering the person specification. If they do suit the role, then they can be nominated. Please contact Jess in the first instance: stpeters.vicar@totonchurches.org
Once someone has been nominated, they must submit a short paragraph to Claire (contact@totonchurches.org) stating why they feel they would suit being a member of the Vision and Implementation team.
Nominations forms are received in paper form via the postbox in the church foyer and will close on Sunday 27th September at 12.30pm. If you would prefer to scan the form and send it digitally, please send to Claire: contact@totonchurches.org
Nomination forms and supporting paragraphs are then brought to the PCC meeting on 30th September 2026 (this will usually happen in July). At this meeting, a discussion will be held to discern who would be the best fit for that particular season of the church.
After the meeting, those who have been elected onto the team will be invited by the Vicar to the first meeting (dates to follow)
Please note the following:
We will decide on the length of term for each member, at the first meeting, up to 3 years.
This group will then be refreshed every year with at least one new person joining and one person leaving. If we find that more than one person is stepping down then we will seek nominations to fill their space with PCC making the decision.
Once someone steps down, they must take a 1 year hiatus.
We will adhere to the Safer Recruitment principles.
