Life Events at St Peter’s

Births, deaths and marriages are often some of the most significant events of our lives. At St Peter’s we are here to offer support during difficult times and to share your joy in happier times. Please feel free to contact us if you would like more information.

  • Weddings

If you have decided to get married, congratulations! We would love to conduct your ceremony at St Peter’s and we will aim to make it as special and unique as possible for you. To be able to hold your ceremony here, you must either a) live in the parish b) be an active member of the congregation with your name on the electoral roll or c) have some ‘qualifying connection’ with our church. Please contact us for more details.

  • Baptisms & Thanksgivings

At St Peter’s we offer Baptism for all ages. Baptism is intended to welcome you or your child into the family of the church, as you begin your lifelong relationship with Jesus and commit to going forward in faith.

We also offer a Service of Thanksgiving for the Birth of a Child, either instead of or in addition to a Baptism. This service involves celebrating your child and saying thank you for their safe arrival. Baptisms and Thanksgivings both usually take place during our 10:30am Sunday service.

  • Funerals

Bereavement can be one of the most difficult experiences of our lives. Whether you choose to say goodbye to your loved one at St Peter’s or at the crematorium, our minister will go through every detail of the service with you and support you every step of the way. We also provide long-term support for as long as you need us, including an invitation to our annual Bereavement Service, which is held at St Peter’s every autumn to remember those who have died.
